Laser cleaning machine working process

Apr,18,2024

The working process of a laser cleaning machine usually includes the following steps:

1. Target preparation: First, place the target object to be cleaned in the working area of the laser cleaning machine. Target objects can be metal parts, stone surfaces, coatings, oil stains and other different types of materials or dirt.

2. Laser source activation: The laser cleaning machine generates a laser beam by activating the laser source. Usually, high energy density pulse lasers are used, such as nanosecond pulse laser, picosecond pulse laser or femtosecond pulse laser.

3. Laser focusing: The laser beam passes through an optical system, such as a lens or reflector, and is focused to a very small point to form a spot with high energy density. This spot is used to treat the target surface.

4. Interaction between laser and target surface: After the laser beam hits the target surface, it interacts with dirt, coatings or impurities on the surface. This usually results in one of the following processes:

- Evaporation: The laser energy is high enough to evaporate dirt or coatings directly into gas, thus separating them from the surface.

- Ablative: A laser beam can remove dirt or coatings by heating them to burn or oxidize them.

- Explosion: In some cases, the concentrated action of laser energy can cause impurities to explode on the surface and thus be removed.

5. Check the cleaning effect: Once the dirt, coating or impurities are removed, the operator can check the cleaning effect to ensure the surface is clean.

6. Treatment of residues: After laser cleaning, the removed dirt or impurities are usually sucked away by the air flow or vacuum system inside the equipment to ensure that they are no longer attached to the surface.

Laser cleaning machines have highly precise control capabilities and can adjust parameters such as laser energy, pulse frequency, scanning speed and focal length to adapt to the needs of different materials and applications. This cleaning method requires no chemicals, produces no waste, and does not damage the target surface, making it widely used in many industrial and cleaning applications.
