What are the characteristics of CNC bending machine molds?

The cnc bending machine mold is an auxiliary tool used by the bending machine to shape sheets and process sheets. This tool is composed of various parts, and different molds are composed of different parts and shapes. It mainly changes the shape of material items (mainly metal sheets) by changing the physical state of 

the molding material through the pressure of the bending machine, so that the material items get the shape we need.


From a structural point of view, bending machine molds can be divided into upper molds and lower molds. The upper mold is mostly an active mold (the upper mold moves, we call it a movable mold), and the lower mold is a passive mold (the lower mold does not move, we call it a fixed mold). 

However, due to the different working modes of the bending machines, some are reversed, but the overall form remains the same.


In terms of use, bending machine molds are generally divided into standard molds and special molds. Generally speaking, the mold tool tip angle is 30 degrees 

(the actual angle is 26-28 degrees), the lower mold groove angle is 30 degrees, 45 degrees, 60 degrees, 80-90 degrees, etc., 60 degrees, 78 degrees-88 degrees, etc. .


From the shape point of view, the upper mold of the bending machine can be divided into sharp knife mold, arc mold, curved knife mold and forming mold. 

Generally speaking, sharp knife molds are mostly 30 degrees and 60 degrees, and occasionally there are special designated angles such as 45 degrees and 55 degrees. 

Arc molds are mainly designed with different arc diameters and arc lengths. Scimitar molds are mainly used for avoidance in some "U"-shaped workpieces or multi-pass

 bends. The most complex is the forming mold. The forming mold can be integrated or combined. Generally speaking, the combined mold is designed, manufactured

 and combined by the upper and lower molds From the perspective of production cost, the manufacturing cost of integrated molds will be much higher (especially 

large molds), and the accuracy of combined molds has great advantages in large molds and complex graphic molds .


Bending machine molds are divided by function: they can be divided into single molds and multi-functional molds. The so-called single mold can only make a single 

type of workpiece, while multi-functional molds can process different types of workpieces, and some can be disassembled and assembled. , we also call it composite 

mold, such as step mold and forming mold.


According to the number of mold slots, the lower mold of the bending machine can be roughly divided into single V mold, double V mold and multi-V mold. As the 

name suggests, the surface of single V mold and double V mold has only one or two mold grooves, which is very common in CNC bending machines and has high 

precision. Because it has a fixed base, we also call it a concentric mold, which can be replaced at will. Multi-V lower molds are mostly square molds with multiple mold 

slots on four surfaces and different sizes. The advantage is that the mold has many slots and can adapt to the bending of various thick plates.
